Kings of TUMBA

Xproject is a synergy between Nigeria’s Majeed Akinwunmi Akinwoye (Majeed) and Sierra Leoneans, Aziz Mohammed Kamara (slez) and Salieu Umaru Sindi (saal).

The group formed in the year 2000, with Majeed as band leader, initially had an additional group member Moses Kamara (shack). They have had the long standing ambition to define standards for Afro R&B and Hip-Hop

Their Debut album, “Tumba Dance” was originally released in Freetown Serria Leone in the year 2004, while their second effort “Dance for Me” was released in Serria Leone in early 2005 and Nigeria in August of 2005.


Band Profile
Majeed.
Nationality: Nigerian

Strength: quintessential hip hop

Artist. Prolific and versatile in song writing and sings wonderfully. Majeed has the potential of a world class musician.

Previous group: poetic leaders based in Ketu, Lagos.
Turning point: meeting shack, saal and slez at a musical concert at Lekki in 2000. He abandoned all previous projects and teamed up with his newfound friends to form the extreme project (x project) with the aim of unifying African music.

Martial status: single and too young to marry.


Slez

Nationality: Sierra Leonean

Strength: excellent voice. Write good dancehall songs and sings brilliantly. He has a bias for R&B. With time slez would mature to be one of the finest singers that this continent can boast of.
Previous group: ward up family in Sierra Leone. Although the several members of the group are now the leading solo artists in Sierra Leone, slez was once in 1997 rated as the best R&B singer in Sierra Leone.

Turning point: coming to Nigeria in 1999 and meeting Majeed. Slez's combination with Majeed gives an edge to the group and assures them of respected place in the music industry in Nigeria.
Marital status: single and to scared to start thinking of such a holy union


Saal

Nationality: Sierra Leone

Previous group: Saal was originally a dancer, but slez was able to convince him to try singing.

Strength: fantastic and adaptable voice. Could flow with either hip hop or R&B. Learns fast. The proposed musical lessons at the Muson would surely discover the true Saal. With his energy and attitude Saal complements slez and majeed excellently.

Turning point: meeting his friend slez and joining x- project.

Marital status: single and a distance away from the institution.
